Meet Our Providers

Salvatore Ventimiglia, MD

Salvatore Ventimiglia, MD

Dr. Salvatore Ventimiglia received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and did his residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. 

Candice Mansoor, MD

Dr. Candice Mansoor joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2017.  She graduated from Wayne State School of Medicine and trained at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan for her pediatric residency. 

Katherine Yulo, MD

Dr. Katherine Yulo joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2021 and has been in practice for about 15 years.  She completed a degree in Physical Therapy at the University of the Philippines and received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas.  In 2010, she completed her residency at Texas A&M Driscoll Children’s Hospital and gained additional experience as a resident in pediatric pulmonology at the University of Chicago. 

Thomas Zahari, DO

Dr. Thomas Zahari joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2022.  He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. 

Kristen Herman, MD

Dr. Kristen Herman is a board-certified pediatrician and joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2022.  She graduated medical school from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.  Dr. Herman is currently vice chief of pediatrics at Ascension Providence Rochester. 

Kirsten Miller-Unger, MD

Dr. Kirsten Miller-Unger joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2023 and has been in practice for 20 years.  She graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Miller was awarded “The Detroit Free Press Best Pediatrician in 2022” 

Gideon Nyakundi, MD

Dr. Gideon Nyakundi is a recent addition to the Shelby Pediatric Associates in 2024.  He graduated from the American University of the Caribbean in 2021 and completed his residency training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in 2024. 

Dana Kopacz, PNP

Dana Kopacz is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2019.  Dana earned her bachelors and master's at the University of Michigan and gained over six years of clinical experience in pediatric acute and primary care while working at Michigan Medicine. 

Jaclyn Losty PNP

Jackie Losty joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2017.  She is a native of Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for her undergraduate and master’s program.  She worked as a NICU nurse all over the country before attending school for her master’s for a nurse practitioner. 

Jessica McCarthy, PNP

Jessica is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner and joined the Shelby Pediatric Family in 2020.  She has been a nurse practitioner since 2009.  Jessica is a graduate of the University of Michigan for her Bachelor of Nursing, and the University of Pennsylvania for her master's in nursing. 

Sara Tidrow, FNP

Sara is a Family Nurse Practitioner who joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2022.  Sara has over 24 years experience as a pediatric nurse.  She has worked as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, emergency room and most recently, pediatric intensive care unit.  Sara is also a pediatric clinical instructor for nursing students and an instructor for advanced resuscitation training of nursing and medical staff. 

Georgette Gura, CPNP

Georgette (Gigi) Gura is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a Pediatric Mental Specialist (PMHS) who joined the Shelby Pediatric Team in 2023.  Gigi received her Bachelor of Science in nursing at UNC Charlotte in 1986 and both her Master of Science in nursing (1999) and her Doctor of Nursing practice (DNP 2010) from Duke University.  Gigi also holds a consulting associates' appointment at Duke University and has a long history as a clinical preceptor/clinical instructor.   

Paulina Multhaupt, LLP

Paulina joined the Shelby Pediatric Associates team in 2018 providing cognitive assessment services.  Paulina attended Michigan State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Eastern Michigan University earning a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology.  She is currently working on her doctorate in clinical psychology.  Paulina has been licensed by the state of Michigan as a limited license psychologist (LLP) since 1998.
